Belmont Police Department - Support Services Bureau Detective

The Detective for the Belmont Police Department falls under the direction of the Support Services Bureau Commander. 

The Detective is responsible for the investigation of major crimes that occur within the confines of the Town of Belmont, acts as the liaison and coordinator with all local, state and federal agencies during any criminal investigation.  The Detective, as well as other officers within the department are qualified and competent investigators trained in the use of different investigative tools and techniques.  The Detective is also responsible for the registry of all sexual offenders who reside in Town of Belmont.

Our Detective, Raechel Moulton, was the first police officer from the State of New Hampshire to graduate from the prestigious 10-week National Forensic Academy, sponsored by and held at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  Detective Moulton has a well rounded law enforcement career and has worked in corrections, patrol and investigations making her a wealth of knowledge to our department.. 

The Detective position, according to department general orders, is appointed by the Chief of Police from members within the police department.
