Belmont Police
Department - Support Services
Bureau Community Service
Programs |
|

|
Community Service Programs allow the members of
Belmont Police Department, and the citizens of the Town of
Belmont to interact in ways that benefit the community as a
whole. Below are just a few of the community service
programs that are sponsored by the men and women of the
Belmont Police Department. |
| Senior Dinners - The Belmont Police
sponsor several dinners a year for our senior citizens.
Each dinner has a theme and are held at different locations
throughout town including the Senior Center. We really
enjoy these interactions with our senior residents and always
look forward to these functions. |
| Police Cadets - The Belmont Police
sponsor an Explorer Post made up of young adults
aged 14 - 20. These Cadets give hundreds of man hours
annually assisting our department with traffic control at
parades and large events, run the Santa's Lil Helper program, work with us at
our Special Olympics projects to name a few.
Our
Cadets attend attend the one-week residential NH Police Cadet
Training Academy and some of our cadets have graduated from
all three levels. We have had one cadet graduate from
the National Law Enforcement Academy held at the DEA Academy
at Quantico, Virginia and they attend the National Law
Enforcement Explorer Conferences held in Arizona, Colorado and
Georgia. These are just some of the training that they
attend besides local training programs.
This post,
as well as the individuals in it receive many awards and we
are very proud of the service that they provide and the work
that they do.
|
| Project ChildSafe - A nationwide program
whose purpose is to promote safe firearms handling and storage
practices among all firearms owners through the distribution
of key safety education messages and free gun locking
devices. We participate in this federal program and will
distribute free safety kits to gun owners in the Town of
Belmont to promote safe storage of firearms in the home.
Please stop by the station for details. You may receive
up to two (2) safety kits. There is no charge
for these kits. |
| Special Olympics - The Belmont Police work
with Special Olympics in support of our Special
Athletes. Whether it is raising money by pumping gas at
our annual Serve and Protect at a local Irving Station,
hanging medals on Olympic winners at one of the competitions,
running with athletes in the annual Special Olympics Torch Run
or doing other fundraising efforts for this worthwhile
program. We are very proud of all our Special Olympic
Athletes and we truly believe that they are all winners!
If you have never seen the Special Olympics, please do, it is
well worth your while. |
Belmont Police Santa's Lil Helper Program - During the
year, our job is to protect the less fortunate and in general,
work to make our resident's lives better. The Christmas
season is a time where the Belmont Police Department Cadets
and Police Officers raises money and collect gifts to make sure that
children in Belmont have a memorable holiday season. If
you are interested in donating money for this worthwhile
event, please send your donation to:
