CURB-SIDE RESIDENTIAL PICKUP
Bestway Disposal Services currently holds the contract for the Town's curbside residential trash pickup. If you have any problems with your curbside trash pick up you are welcome to contact them directly, at 524-5881, however, please also contact the Town Administrator's Office at 267-8300 so that we are aware of any problems.

LACONIA TRANSFER STATION
By permit, Belmont residents can take bulk household items, such as furniture and appliances, to the Laconia Transfer Station on Meredith Center Road. From the Town Clerk you can obtain a sticker permit for vehicles that are registered in Belmont, that will give you access to the Transfer Station during regular business hours. From the Selectmen's Office you can obtain a one day permit that gives you access to the Transfer Station with any vehicle not registered in Belmont. These permits are issued to Belmont property owners only. There is no charge for either permit obtained from the Town of Belmont, however, the Transfer Station does charge for the items that you dispose of there. For further information on what is accepted and what their fees are at the Laconia Transfer Station, you can contact them directly at 528-5822.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION
On the last Saturday in July each year, Belmont hosts the region's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day, which is organized by the Lakes Region Planning Commission (279-8171), and funded by participating communities and a matching grant from the NH Department of Environmental Services. Household Hazardous Waste Day provides an environmentally safe method to dispose of oil-base paints, household cleaners, and other potentially hazardous household waste, including computers, monitors, printers and keyboards.

Please bring household products only, do not mix or consolidate items. No commercial waste is accepted.

Each household is limited to 10 gallons or 25 pounds. You will be asked to participate in a brief survey which helps us improve our collection effort.

This year's free collection day is July 26th, 2008 from 8:30am to 12 noon at the Belmont Fire Station.
