10 YEAR VOTER CHECKLIST PURGE: RSA 654:39 - June 3, 2011
If you have not voted by ballot in the Town of Belmont within the last 4 years you may have received a letter in your mail informing you that you will need to re-register to vote in order to remain on the voter checklist. A sample of that letter is listed below:

Dear Registered Voter,

NH RSA 654:39 requires that the checklist be verified every 10 years in the year ending with a 1 by striking from the voter checklist the names of all persons who have not voted in any election in the last 4 years except for any person whose name was added to the checklist since the last state general election.

Our records indicate that your name has met the criteria in RSA 654:39 and consequently, unless you RE-REGISTER within 30 days from the date of this notice, your name will be removed from the voter checklist. You may re-register to vote by appearing IN PERSON at the Town of Belmont Clerk's office during regular office hours. You may also re-register by appearing in person before a Supervisor of the Checklist at the Supervisors meeting currently scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Belmont Town Hall.

When re-registering to vote you will be required to show proof of identity and domicile, and complete a new voter registration form.

If you haven't already registered to vote you may do so at the Clerks office in the Town Hall, Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00pm. Items you need to bring with you are:
Proof of US Citizenship
Proof of Belmont residency
Drivers License or some photo identification
