2012 Voter Info

Residents can register to vote at the Town Clerk's office or at any time the Checklist Supervisors are in session (hold open hours).

Voters who voted at the February Presidential Primary and who wanted to return to an Undeclared status could do so immediately after that vote.  Voters may also change party affiliations at the Town Clerk's office during regular business hours or at any other time that the Checklist Supervisors are in session.  June 5, 2012, is the last day for registered voters to change or declare a Party affiliation prior to the September 11th State Primary Election Day.  Voters who register to vote after June 5th may declare a party affiliation when they register.

The Checklist Supervisors will be in session at the Belmont Town Hall on Tuesday, June 5th from 7-7:30pm (all changes); on Tuesday, September 4th from 7-7:30pm (registrations only); and on Saturday, October 27th from 11-11:30am (all changes).

The NH State Primary election is September 11th.  The General Election is November 6th.  Polls are open on voting days between 7am and 7pm at the Belmont High School gym, 255 Seavey Road.

Please be sure to visit the Secretary of State's Webpage to better understand the new VOTER ID LAW, SB 289.  This law relates to the requirement that ALL voters voting at the polls in both the September and November elections MUST show a valid photo ID in order to vote.  People voting by absentee ballot are not required to show a photo ID.  Photo ID is not required for the Special Town Election on August 21st.
