Belmont Master Plan

Recreation

July 18th 2001

We discussed the different types of recreation that's available throughout the town on a year-round basis and how more recreational type businesses could be drawn to Belmont to help recreational needs.

We also discussed locations of a recreation center and the activities that would be in it and should school properties be utilized. By utilizing available town land to expand recreation throughout the town could cut down cost.  But there's a question of what will be permitted and not permitted on town land and who would make the decision (residents or officials)?

We also discussed whether or not residents would like to see, pay as you use leagues (like Gilford’s program)

We discussed having two different surveys one for adults and one for kids, this will give us the broadest range of recreational needs.

These are the recreational activities that we came up with, any additional ideas welcome.
