Committee members support the proposal of the Lake Winnisquam Scenic Trail.
Chair, Jon Pike said that the committees responsibility is to give a broad-brush approach to areas under discussion and not to focus on minute details.

Endorse
a Betterment Policy to hold developers responsible for the betterment of the
town proportionately utilizing capital improvement funds-long term budget. |
Moved by Jon Pike, seconded by Judy Pilliod-vote unanimous in the
affirmative.

Propose
that Belmont participates in subsidizing a program for public
transportation. Moved by Jim Pilliod seconded by Dave Barrett-vote
unanimous in the affirmative. | |

Transportation
committee would like to join with Land Use and Recreation Committee to
establish a transportation corridor for OHRV (off highway recreational
vehicles) | |

Park
and Ride area suggested for Route 106 area. |
Nancy McCurry, Marketing and Public Relations Staff member of GLTA, and a member of the Transportation Committee for the Master Plan gave us handouts, and a schedule with information about GLTA.
The “official stop” in Belmont is the Providian Bank. However, GLTA will pick up and drop off passengers at any location along the route. The bus currently travels through Belmont on routes 106 and 140.
Rides to Manchester Airport are available by appointment for $55.00.
Judy Pilliod handed out a list of other modes of transportation.
