Excerpts from meeting from Nancy McCurry

Ø      Bridges:  We need to think about establishing capital reserve funds to repair and replace bridges in town.  We also have "multiple" culverts in town, which are considered bridges.  Although none of our bridges are on the State's list now, the bridges have had no attention in years and will certainly require some attention in the years to come.  Bob also recommended that the town hire professionals for bridge repair and maintenance, rather than relying on town workers.

Ø      Town Garage Salt House:  Bob said many neighbors on Hurricane Rd. have complained about noise from the salt house operations.  He suggested the Town might consider moving that to another location on the property in the future.

Ø      Standards for Road Construction:  Bob advised that the Town (I can’t recall whether he said the Selectmen or Planning Board) determine the standards for local road construction.  He said basically they follow the NH Bridge and Highway specs.  Bob thinks that in the future thought should be given to upgrading the Town's standards for road construction for weight and number of vehicles.

Ø      Bob also gave us a priority list for road repairs.

Bob said we should feel free to contact him with any other questions, or if we need additional input.
