Area Recreation

Belmont has many interesting and fun things to do for residents and visitors alike!

Lake Winnisquam Scenic Trail is now open and provides a beautiful 1.8 mile walk through wooded and scenic lake-side areas. It leads to the Laconia WOW trail providing more miles of walking, running and biking fun!



The Leslie E. Roberts Beach and Recreation Area, located at 43 Leslie E. Roberts Drive has a sandy beach, playground, picnic tables and bathroom facilities. The beach is staffed from late June until mid August from 9:00AM until 5:00PM, weather permitting. The Leslie E. Roberts Beach and Recreation Area is for Belmont Residents. Residents must display a current year beach decal for admission to the beach. Obtain a decal by presenting a current vehicle registration at the Town Clerk's Office. Bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful beach and picnic areas. Please call the Belmont Parks & Recreation Office at 267-1865 for more information.

The Belknap County 4-H Fairgrounds is the site of many summer activities including the Belknap County 4-H Fair, horse and livestock shows and auctions; and the Lakes Region Casino provides hours of fun for tournaments, table games and Bingo.



Local conservation parcels and other open areas are available for passive recreational uses; and, under the guidance of the Conservation Commission, plans are underway to expand the existing trail facilities. 



Several campgrounds provide summer camping fun and the Lakeview Golf Club has excellent play on its nine-hole course. Sargent Park facilities on Sargent Street include tennis, skateboard and playground. 



The Lakes Region Casino in Belmont provides hours of fun.



Just south of Belmont, the NH Motor Speedway hosts NASCAR Busch, Winston Cup and Craftsmen Truck and IRL Series races, motorcycle races and auto shows.

The Merrill Fay Arena in Laconia is open during the cooler months of the year and hosts other activities during the summer.  The Squam Lake Science Center is a day full of wildlife, environmental and educational fun. 



Bank of NH Pavilion at Meadowbrook hosts several concerts during the summer with some of the largest names in the music industry. 



There are several skiing, hiking and snowmobiling locations in the area and the Weirs Beach and Gunstock Recreational Area are open for both summer and winter enjoyment. Facilities at Gunstock also include camping, biking trails, snowboarding and tubing



Access to and enjoyment on Lake Winnipesaukee, the largest of the area lakes is within minutes of Belmont.
