Corner Meeting House

During the 1950s, the All Peoples Church organized and purchased the dwelling house at the corner of Main and Church Streets.  The upper floor of the house was converted to use as a church and the bottom level was used as meeting space.

In 2000, the property was placed on the market and a special Town Meeting voted to purchase what was then the Lakes Christian Center Church for $85,000.  An additional $14,000 was raised for interior renovations including an upper level bathroom.

The project received the Greater Laconia Weirs Beach Chamber of Commerce Golden Hammer Award, Municipal Category, in 2001.

The building would provide the community with much needed meeting space, both upstairs and downstairs.  And the additional 20 parking spaces would support activities within the building as well as the adjacent Police Station and Sargent Park.

The facility will continue to provide important community meeting space as part of the current proposal.
